Hello New Year!

First same time big girl bath, Babies saying hello, C playing with her blanket, Daddy's attempt at doing M's hair!

Christmas is over so shouldn't Mommy and Daddy busy levels have lowered? Apparently not! House improvements are continuing as quickly as we can manage with two babies (Mommy's full time job) and Daddy's full time job! The master bath is almost finished, but is cleared for use! Now the big main bathroom is gutted and ready for it's makeover! Hopefully it will take less than the 3 months for the other bathroom! While Daddy has been busy with work, home construction and babies, Mommy has been busy cleaning and organizing, making tons of baby food and of course baby watching. Right now Mommy is detangling baby fingers off her laptop!

Mommy's biggest accomplishment lately was cleaning up her craft room. It had become the proverbial dumping grounds during the holiday season and couldn't be addressed, but now Mommy packed up about 50% of it and organized the rest. While the home is getting fixed up and eventually getting put on the market, Mommy still needs her crafts! Creative output is food for the soul!

The babies have been busy busy as of late. M has mastered crawling, pulling herself to a stand (especially when she is supposed to be taking a nap), using her sister as a jungle gym and is currently working on four teeth! Her four top teeth are coming in all at once, though the two side teeth are the only ones to have cut through yet. Mommy is relieved that the evil teeth are the reason for the monster like behavior and not her sweet baby! C still has no teeth but has two lumps...still, hoping for a tooth anytime now! C is pretty content to just sit and play all day so she has been having a lot of tummy time lately to try and induce her to crawl. She is managing to pull herself around a bit but gets frustrated easily. She'll get there in her own sweet time! Both girls have been babbling a lot. Mama is still a favorite, but Dada has been added to the vocabulary as well. C is getting to be quite a parrot and will repeat some words/vowels and a cute little sing song "ha ha", very cute! Daddy's favorite is the soft little Da da da da that comes over the monitor at around 6:30am from little M...melts his heart! Another development is the fighting over toys. If one has a toy they both want it and even with so many nice new toy choices they go for the same one! At least they're not biting yet.

Funny story for this week involves poo, so to the squeamish, look away! Yesterday Mommy was spraying out diapers when a little raisin sized poo dropped on the floor...gross...but not too big of a deal. Then the evil little doggy runs in and eats it! Mommy had a little trouble keeping her food down on that one. Frantically looking for the dogs breath buster bones ensued. Yuck yuck yuck. A friend said she had heard that dogs will eat anything, but thought it was a myth. Guess not.

The girls baptism has finally been scheduled and godparents selected and asked! They will be baptized on the 31st of this month at the 9:15am mass at our church! The vintage baptismal gowns still fit though a little short, Mommy will be relieved to have it done and not looming on her mind. Not even officially Catholic yet and already guilty! :)

The biggest news is Mommy is going away for the weekend to see her girlfriend up north. Very exciting, fun activities planned and no kiddos! Mommy will surely have separation anxiety but is leaving them in excellent hands with Daddy! It will be Mommy's first overnight away from the babes. Some are supporting the trip, while others say the babies are too young to be away from Mommy overnight. Bah...they'll be fine, it's Mom you should worry about!

We'll have to update you all next week to see how Mommy did. Will she come home early desperate for her babies or will she tough it out and "try" to have fun? More to come on the next episode of the "As the Twin Menagerie Turns"!

  1. Wow crawling, teeth, talking, and sitting up in baths... it seems so far away! Congrats on doing such a great job mommy and daddy! Glad you are able to get away for a night and that the girls get to spend time with daddy. That was so cute that it melts his heart when they say da da even at 6:30 am! Sounds like things are going great for you guys-keep up the good work!
