We have a "Mama"!

C getting "attacked" by puppy while M looks on, M playing peek a boo, M and C sporting some vintage apparel worn by their mommy when she was a baby, Mommy with two tuckered out girls and a fat cat!

Holy cow it's October already?

Some developments in the menagerie over the past couple of weeks. The girls are really starting to use their A vowel in all sorts of variations. Favorites so far are mama, blah blah, la la and dada. Mommy and Daddy are unsure to count them as first words, because the girls are just playing around with sounds. M uses mama when she is starting to get upset, it like she's calling for help! But Mommy knows it is probably just her favored vowel combination. Mommy and Daddy keep repeating different words to the babies hoping that they'll repeat them back, but they just like to smile and watch their parents babble like fools! The girls are getting much more mobile, making the need for an area rug in their play area a high priority! We've had several head bonks and wandering. Sometimes Mommy will leave the room and come back to find no babies on their blanket, instead they've scooted off and are hiding behind a chair or looting the coffee table. Mommy is going to have to child proof now, starting with removing some stuff from the cubbies in the coffee table as M really likes to go after everything! M might be the baby to watch as she tends to keep Mommy on her toes quite a bit. She has to be strapped down in any swing or vibrating chair because she can flip over so easily. She fights her afternoon nap so much that by the time she goes to sleep, C is waking up giving Mommy no break! Yesterday Mommy had to go in her room no less than 10 times and flip M over, put her romper sleeve back on her arm (she was some how getting her arm out of her sleeve!) and even one time she managed to untie part of her crib bumper and started sucking on the string. Yuck, drool everywhere! C has her moments as well but tends to be quite content with her surroundings. She is still the more vocal baby out of the two and is quite the flirt. C is experiencing a little stranger anxiety when we venture out to the store though. It tends to be when she is a little more tired! Both girls are growing up so quickly, hopefully M will grow weight wise as well this month! They are both lapping up the avocado now and Mommy added another small solid food feeding before their nap. With two babies and three solid food feedings a day Mommy sometimes questions her decision to make all their baby food! It's a big commitment and process, but after tasting the store bought stuff...ewww! We're dedicated to the cause, let's just hope Mommy can keep up with demand!

Mommy started her Catholic instruction class last week. The class were given huge binders of reading material and journaling assignments. Luckily, Mommy already did her homework for this week! The girls were going to get baptized this month, but now we're probably going to push it back to November, hopefully they will still fit in their baptismal gowns! Over all were really happy with our church and enjoy going. The only downside is that they try to save on heating costs during the winter, as they should, so when we went last Sunday boy was it cold! Good thing I have the full body suits for the girls because it's going to get chilly!

Our church is in NE Portland, an area we love! We've been talking about trying to relocate closer into Portland in NE where we can find an older home and live in a neighborhood where so many things are within walking distance. Mommy loves this house but would rather live in an up and coming neighborhood in Portland. The problem is the homes in the areas were looking at are still pretty expensive. We've decided to start looking around with our real estate agent and also fix up our house so it can be ready to put on the market. Mommy thinks our house will sell fairly easily, it's just finding a new home will be much more difficult! Top priority will be to legalize the square footage in the garage where the previous owner added on without getting a permit. Our efforts may not pan out, but we wanted to give it a solid try. We've decided if we can't move into an area of Portland we like, Daddy may go with a different job position that will require moving every few years. Staying in Portland is our favorite option, but we'll see how it goes.

Mommy has been busy with lots of crafts lately, a lot are for baby gifts and some for Christmas. Some pictures will come soon, but after some of the gifts are given. Mommy still wants to open her etsy shop, so a lot of the crafts are in the developmental/testing stage. Mommy is hoping to work on crafts all winter and get some back stock, then debut in the spring. Mommy will be asking for lots of opinions on her crafts soon, so be sure to speak up!

Otherwise things have been going great! The TV rule is still in effect, Mommy and Daddy are listening to more NPR again, keeping caught up on the news and the babies have been enjoying all their cds courtesy of Gigi! We're all looking forward to Halloween and Mommy is still trying to figure out costume ideas. We hope everyone is enjoying the snappy fall so far!
