Ugh...

This is what happens when we let Daddy fold the laundry! M and C playing, M doing her cheerleader pom moves with a diaper, C loving up on fat girl kitty...so soft!

We have colds...again! Mommy is amazed how she remained so healthy during the pregnancy, then once the babies came along...BAM...cold after cold! The nurse said it is because new parents tend to be so run down for at least a year after the birth. That and I think the babies come programmed with germs that are guaranteed to bring Mommy and Daddy to their knees. Even Daddy succumbed to this round of sickness.

Things at the menagerie continue to move along full speed ahead. Mommy and Daddy put their house on the market rather suddenly. A house popped up in NE Portland that was in an excellent price range. Upon inspecting the house and the rather crooked floors, Mommy and Daddy realized it was time to get the house up so when the right house did come around we would be one step closer. So far we've been on the market a little over a week and have had 2 showings and one cancellation showing (though they didn't bother to tell Mommy who was driving around with two screaming, no nap taking babies!) Hopefully we will get some promising bites soon. If not that's o.k. we can stay here for a little while longer, fix up the kitchen and try again. Mommy usually prides herself on a moderately clean and pretty organized house, but now has to keep the house in near immaculate condition. The biggest pain is washing the dishes then drying and putting them away all in one go so we can keep the ugly drying rack off the counter. Aunty K gave Mommy the suggestion of tossing the unwashed dishes in the oven so they are hidden when you have a sudden showing. It works great, Mommy puts them in a small dish tub and pops them in the oven. It was working up until Mommy turned on the oven for dinner and forgot to remove the dish tub. After Mommy smelled it and realized what she had done she pulled out the oven rack, sprinted out to the garage, peeled off the melted tub and then spent 10 minutes getting the last bits off the rack and the oven mitt. Luckily none got on the bottom of the oven, there was big string heading towards it when Mommy pulled the rack out. Oops!

Two more funny stories for you folks. A couple of weeks ago after the final bottle Mommy and Daddy were putting the girls down. Mommy came in with M, while Daddy was struggling to put C down...in M's crib. Mommy stood there for a bit trying to figure out what Daddy was doing, maybe adjusting something in the other crib and keeping C in M's crib temporarily. No...Daddy mixed up babies. Mommy asked if he was going to put C down in her crib. Daddy pauses, looks down at his baby and says, "Oh I guess that's why she wouldn't take the pacifier, I couldn't figure it out!" Mommy started laughing, Daddy exclaimed that he was tired! Ha ha, Daddy hasn't mixed up babies for a long, long time!

The other funny story is rated PG-13, but funny none the less. With the house on the market Mommy and Daddy have been in and out of the garage, moving boxes and the like. The garage door didn't get shut and the boy kitty ventured out into the garage and jumped up in the attic. He's done this before, he will bump around up there for a while, yowling away, get filthy and then will eventually come down by force after being lured in with catnip. Mommy and Daddy were exhausted after cleaning all day and were having pics taken of the house the next day. After several attempts to lure the naughty kitty down, Mommy and Daddy gave up and went to bed. The fat girl kitty was anxious all night because her big brother was missing, but did take advantage of sleeping on the bed all night. Doggy was anxious because the object of her obsession was no where to be found. After all night in the attic and most of the next day, Daddy crawled up in the attic and attempted to trap the naughty kitty. While crawling around in the filth Daddy came across something. Here is what Mommy heard, "What's this...a record...oh...oh my...I think I found a porno movie up here...on laser disc!" Daddy threw down a very 80's looking porno movie, yes, on laser disc! How it got up there, who knows, maybe a paranoid husband threw it up there so his wife wouldn't find it? So if anyone is interested in a movie of rather dubious quality and you have a laser disc player! Ha ha!

The girls are doing great. C is still not crawling though she really could if she put her mind to it. She likes to rock back and forth on all fours still and can scoot around pretty well. When the baby fence is down the girls like to play their version of chase. M crawls away quickly with C scooting loudly after her. M turns around and peeks back at C to make sure she is still coming and sometimes crawls back to her to encourage her along. Very cute! C has 4 teeth coming in now, we are still waiting for the front teeth. M is very close to walking, she stands up a lot, lets go of the furniture she is holding onto and will slowly sink to the floor. She is cruising all the time and Mommy and Daddy have to very quick with whatever is in her reach as she is extremely grabby!! Both girls are very loud, they babble, yell, shriek and screech at all times. It's only going to get louder! Maybe they will be on the stage with those carrying voices! Time will tell!

Time is ticking closer to Easter, where Mommy will be fully in the church and able to take communion. In the meantime church has been keeping us very busy. Mommy volunteered at church a couple of weeks ago doing some computer work while Daddy was at home with the babies. Mommy enjoyed her time immensely, spending a few quality hours work working. Also on letting it slip that Mommy knew how to sew, was quickly commissioned to sew the altar pieces for the Lenten season. This was on a Friday and they needed them on following Tuesday so they could be up for Ash Wednesday. Furious sewing ensued, along with an all night sew fest, but Mommy finished them! They are front and center in the church and don't look too bad! So an overall success!

We hope everyone is doing well and enjoying the early spring season, except for the allergies of course! Mommy and Daddy will now be getting ready for the girls 1st birthday (gasp) in March. Mommy and Daddy can't believe it has been almost a year since these darling little girls came along. It's been so rewarding, a little exhausting, but worth every moment!
